Blizzard Entertainment introduces a brand new evil in Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. Also known as Diablo 2 LoD, it is an expansion pack for the role-playing game Diablo 2. The underworld stirs with the new power, Baal, and the hero must defeat him before Baal reaches the Worldstone and destroys the world.
Expect to see many changes in the game as Diablo 2 LoD download comes packed with new features: gameplay was revamped for single and multiplayer modes, two new character classes were introduced, a fifth act with a new boss and many weapons and armor were added.
Diablo 2 LoD Download – New Characters
The original Diablo allows the player to select a character from five classes (Amazon, Necromancer, Barbarian, Sorceress and Paladin), while Diablo 2 LoD download introduces two new characters to the mix, the Assassin and the Druid.
The Assassin
Known as the Viz-Jaq’taar or the Order of the Mage Slayers, the Assassin is a master of martial arts and trap laying. The Martial Arts tree includes finishing moves and charge-up skills. Examples of charge-up skills are Fists of Fire, Blades of Ice (elemental damage) and Cobra Strike (mana and life stealing). Finishing moves are Dragon Talon (kicks) and Dragon Flight (teleport and kick).
The Traps tree includes some direct attacks and several traps that can be summoned. Traps are immovable devices that attack enemies a number of times before breaking. Traps are mostly fire or lightning-based. Blade traps are projectiles that cause damage, while death sentry traps shoots lightning bolts and causes nearby corpses to explode.
Other Assassin skills include summoning a Shadow Warrior/Shadow Master to deal major damage and opening locked chests without using a key. The Assassin’s Shadow Disciplines tree has passive bonuses (Claw Mastery, Weapon Block), buffs (Burst of Speed, Venom), and spells (Mind Blast).
The Druid
The Druids are nomadic warrior-poet-kings, driven from their homelands by the Barbarians. The Druid is a master of elemental magic and shape shifting. The Druid also employs several minions and direct damage spells. The Elemental tree includes magic spells from nature (earth and sky). Examples are the storm spells (more of an armor than direct attack), protecting the Druid from the elements.
Tornado, a massive damage attack, and the fire spells (Fissure and Volcano). Elemental spells (Hurricane and Armageddon) deal the most damage, following the Druid and destroying all nearby entities.
The Summoning tree consists of calling the Druid’s allies. Wolves and grizzly are melee summons, while ravens blind enemies and disappear after attacking. Sages can be summoned to increase life and damage to the opponent and a summoned vine can poison enemies or consume corpses.
The Shape-Shifting tree allows the Druid to transform into a Werewolf or Werebear. Although all equipment functions normally when the Druid shifts, he can only cast summoning and Armageddon spells. The Werewolf’s Feral Rage is a speed attack while the Werebear’s Maul is a bludgeoning attack. The Werebear form can get more life and armor than the Werewolf form.
Diablo 2 LoD Download – Act V
The final stage in Diablo 2 LoD download is a completely new act. Act V starts with a fight with lesser bosses and culminates with a fight with Baal, the Act V monster boss. Before this, the player faces off with Shenk the Overseer in the Bloody Foothills. Shenk is the leader of the siege on Harrogath. In addition, the player has to rescue Anya to get a scroll for increased resistance and to kill Nihlathak in the Halls of Vaught. After this, the player must defeat the Ancients, the guards of Worldstone.
The last stage of Diablo 2 LoD download Act V pits the player against Baal’s minions in the Throne of Destruction, and finally Baal himself in the Worldstone Chamber. When Baal falls, Tyrael appears to congratulate the player. The portal to Destruction’s End opens, and the game ends.
